Gah.

I am going to a dinner on Sunday to celebrate that an old friend of mine is 12 weeks pregnant. (a friend who seriously had the hardest time getting pregnant of almost anyone I know... 4 rounds of IUI and then suddenly got pregnant on her own)

Anyway, I told her I'd bring her my boxes of maternity clothes to go through and borrow what she wanted. Honestly, the chances of her actually wanting any of it are slim to none... we are built completely differently (she is tall and VERY slim... ) AND she hates my style. But I suddenly got a "what if I need these?!" pang. (sigh) Since August is when we might go for it, I really shouldn't need them until fall or winter (or later!) anyway... but still... I feel so suddenly possessive of all of it. I didn't feel this way when I lent the clothes to my SIL, but then again, I KNEW I wouldn't need that stuff anytime soon... or at least, I hoped not!

I wish I weren't such a control freak! :P

It's also freaking me out how quickly summer is approaching!

Comments:
She hates your style??? How does anyone hate polo shirts??? Those make up 90% of your maternity wear...

heh... I also like how you "knew you wouldn't need them anytime soon" Of course you wouldn't! At the time you were still pregnant! :P

I know... (they make up 90% of my NON maternity wear too! LOL!) But Kristi wears some seriously weird stuff that I'd never touch... she is also still working and most of my stuff is casual wear. The only things I think she might actually be interested in are the shorts (since she's due in september) and maybe a shirt or two and possibly the jeans... I've never seen her wear a polo shirt in my entire life!

And LOL.. good point. Although I wasn't still pregnant from May 11 to when A was born... there could have been an "oops, Irish twins!" in there! Which, wow... I would have cried. ;)

I understand the possessiveness - we're done and I still don't want to share mine. My SIL is actively TTC now and while I will be excited for her (and to have a niece/nephew), I am already not wanting to give her my maternity clothes. Like I need them! Ha! Although I think if it was for my sister, I'd be head over heels ready to push them on her. (Of course my sister isn't even dating anyone at the moment.)

Don't stress too much about the time frame. I had made up my mind in the spring of 07 that we were done and then changed my mind in August to try later that fall. The body/mind work in mysterious ways!! Wait till Ben is in kindergarten all day!
