Wondering if This Blog Will Ever Really Be a Baby Blog After All...

As much as I think I want three kids, I'm starting to wonder if I could actually handle it. I had forgotten how hard, how frustrating and how annoying the toddler "independence" phase can be. I lose my temper way more than I'd like to admit... I'm really not having a fun time most days now with mommyhood. I'm wondering if when Simon finally emerges from this frustrating phase, and is a little easier to control, if I'll really want to willingly put myself back there. I just dunno these days... (sigh)

Comments:
If it helps, none of my friends with three regret it! ;)
I just know I couldn't handle another one. Of course, my bc method isn't the world's most reliable so I need to watch out.

Remember when you wanted four kids?? :P

Honestly, I don't know how you do it with 2! It's amazing watching you do it...

Ugh... I just don't know these days. Everyone who has three tells me that going from two to three isn't as hard as going from one to two (which was just ridiculously challenging and still is).... I'm trying to just enjoy my two and kick back with good protection until the baby bug hits me.

My neighbor, who has a five-year-old and an a a two-year-old, promises me there will soon come a time when I will feel like I could handle a baby. (she's going back and forth right now as to whether to have another) I'm thinking when Ben is in school, life will seem a little less overwhelming... here's hoping.

Thanks for the kind words, K! :)

Hey Erin - stumbled back upon this blog after your April Fool's joke. Hope you don't think I'm snooping!

You know, I felt the same way last spring/summer. And then I realized that part of my reluctance was this schedule I had set in my head about when #3 NEEDED to happen. I'm a planner and it was driving me NUTS that I didn't know when I'd want a 3rd based on my previously set plan. So I figured out somehow how to let it go knowing I was only 30 at the time that I still had plenty of time to play with. And I think doing that took the stress off and then one day I was ready. So take that schedule that's in the back of your mind off and just let it be. If you're meant for a 3rd, you'll know when you're ready. It might not be what you'd always planned, but when s/he is here, it will seem like it was meant to be.

Thanks, Erika... that's pretty much where I am now. Though I DO want to be completely finished by the time I'm 35, so I don't have to deal with any of that "advanced maternal age" nonsense. :) Good to know you WERE eventually ready though!
