Wrong Direction...

Ugh. I have LOST three pounds.

Ordinarily, this would be a welcome thing and cause for a happy dance or two; but OB's generally frown upon weight loss of any kind. I was really just hoping to not GAIN anything from my last appointment.

It's not any mystery WHY I lost it... I've been throwing up 2-3 times a day (sometimes more) for the last two weeks. Of course, as I did when I was pregnant with Ben, I'll mention it to my doctor. But I know there is nothing she can do about it. It's just me and my silly short waist and squished stomach. :( My last OB tried two different prescriptions... one an anti-nausea med and another that was supposed to make the food move more quickly out of my stomach. Neither did anything. :(

Yes, I eat smaller, more frequent meals instead of three big ones, but a meal literally has to be like four bites for me to not throw most of it up later. And liquids? Gah. If I drink more than half a (small) glass at a time, IT all comes back too. It's really quite a sad existence right now.

I've already started making a mental list of foods/drinks I miss and things I want to eat as soon as this baby comes out. I will say that after I had Benjamin, I never lost my appreciation for being able to eat a full meal again. Not for the entire almost-three years. I don't know how gastric bypass patients do it.

The good thing is that I know the baby is getting what it needs. My body gives everything to Too first and then distributes whatever is leftover to me. But that means I'm getting super shortchanged. I hope the prenatal vitamins and the calcium are helping fill in the gap, otherwise, my bones are going to be like swiss cheese in ten years.

The things we do for our kids... ;) Sheesh.

Comments:
Oh, Erin. :-( I'm so sorry you're puking again. That's just the worst. I hope it passes soon. Keep that list handy because you know as soon as she/he is out you'll want to eat them and you KNOW you'll enjoy it.
