Dr.'s Appointment...
Routine OB appointment today. Normal blood pressure still! Woohoo! (but which probably means no induction for me this time... boo!!) And in the weight department, I gained WAYYYYYY more than I wanted to this month. I knew this in advance because it literally happened overnight. I had been weighing myself at home every day, got up two days ago and was four pounds heavier than I had been the previous day. I'm eating less than I was when I WASN'T pregnant, so I'm thinking I'm holding onto fluid for some reason. My doctor was in too much of a hurry to hear that long-winded explanation , but I did love her response to my weight lament, "Eh, it happens!" So, it's all good. ;)
I asked her if Too was head down, and she said she was pretty sure she felt the head down low, but that, of course, it could still move... so it's too early to know if he/she will STAY like that. Blah blah blahhhh...
I got my lab form to go take the orange soda test. YUMMERS. Gotta love any test where they force a pregnant woman to FAST and then down something that is sickeningly sweet all in one fell swoop. If that's not a recipe for puking, I don't know what it is. I managed to keep it down with Benjamin though, so here's hoping I can do it again. I'm just praying I pass and don't have to do the three-hour-tour. No reason why I shouldn't, so I'm not really concerned about it... but you just never know!
I also got my ultrasound requisition, so we'll be getting another glimpse at Too in the next week or so! So exciting! I only had the one ultrasound with Ben (and then the one I paid for), so it's really neat this time to keep getting to see how Too is growing. :)
And now I've been bumped to an every three week appointment schedule for the next two visits, and then every two weeks until 36 weeks... and then??? Then I'm in the homestretch and it's once a week until Too makes his or her debut!
When I got home? A big box was on the porch from my good friends at Gymboree. Inside, eight adorable little outfits for Too. :) EEEEeeee!!! Despite the fact that I feel like death warmed over (stupid cold) I took the time to hang them all up in the closet. Then I had to open the door a few times to look at them again and again. Yes, I realize I need help.

My old OB had the same relaxed outlook! I guess if I had a pattern of ridiculous gains they'd get concerned... but I only gained a pound last month and something like 2.5 the month before. So it's all relative...
Perhaps! Or maybe I'm just hopelessly addicted to baby clothes and think a second child shouldn't have ALL handmedowns! ;)
Janelle,
The glucose tolerance test... it screens for gestational diabetes. The first round is always 1 hour. They take your blood for a baseline, then you drink a pint of this fizzy, sweet orange drink. (kinda tastes like orange soda)... then you sit an hour and they take your blood again. I think if you don't have g.d., then your blood sugar should read super low. If you do, then it stays high. If you fail the one-hour, they have you redo the test another day... only they test your blood after the drink over three hours... blehhh... no one wants to do that one!!
